In the project, the lead organization Inkluzivni park, so.p., in collaboration with project partners, will conduct experimental activities in the field of health care, aiming to diversify agricultural activities, which could contribute to generating new income for farms. As part of the project activities, we will educate and raise awareness among participants about methods of improving physical and mental health through nature and its resources, in terms of environmental – healthy experiences in nature, natural medicinal products and treatments – the healing power of nature and water – hydrotherapy.
Special attention will be given to vulnerable social groups (children with special needs, seniors over 50 years old, and the long-term unemployed) and the exchange of knowledge and experiences between different age groups (intergenerational collaboration). The project also aims to enhance the capabilities of farms and encourage their development and mutual cooperation.

Project goal
The primary goal of the project is to explore opportunities for diversifying agricultural activities into the following supplementary activities:
- Organizing workshops or courses (NACE code 85.590: Other education, training, and development) or thematic parks (NACE code 93.210: Amusement park activities) related to the project's subject matter.
Additional Project Goals:
Develop a draft program for implementing activities within supplementary agricultural activities (basic requirements, potential health conditions for participants, methods or approaches for conducting activities, etc.), with a special focus on certain vulnerable social groups (children with special needs, seniors over 50 years old, and the long-term unemployed) and intergenerational collaboration (activities aimed at individuals aged 15 to 65 years and those over 65 years old).
Expected Results
- Establishment of diversified agricultural activities including workshops, courses, and thematic parks.
- Development of a program framework for supplementary agricultural activities.
- Enhanced inclusion of vulnerable social groups and promotion of intergenerational collaboration.
- Generated Income from Supplementary Activities
- Prepared Draft Program for Implementing Activities in the Framework of Supplementary Agricultural Activities
- Expanded Project Results
- Project Evaluation
Achieved Results
- Three orkshops were conducted: At Zaplana 1890 farm, participants relaxed and strengthened their immune systems in a hay sauna and learned about medicinal herbs —how to use them correctly and what products can be made from them (e.g., teas, tinctures, syrups, ointments). They walked through the estate, enjoyed the forest, and explored what it offers. In Stari Maln near Zaplana, participants experienced »Kneipp therapy« —treatment with cold and hot water that stimulates the immune system, affects stress hormone release, accelerates blood circulation and digestion, and reduces pain sensitivity. In today’s fast-paced world, numerous obligations and constant stimuli lead to increasing stress, negatively impacting health and well-being. This is especially concerning for ulnerable groupswho may feel neglected, isolated, or unimportant due to their circumstances or various issues. Activities involving direct contact with nature help these individuals relax, move more, and significantly benefit their well-being. The Ljubljana Society, Reka Sedmerih Imen, voluntarily participated in activities related to forest resources (forest baths, sensory forest experiences, sustainable and health-friendly wood construction, etc.). They operate in a 1890 km² watershed, and their involvement contributed to forest and rural development.
- By bringing together younger and older generations, the project fostered a more inclusive society, facilitated the exchange of valuable knowledge and experiences, and strengthened teamwork. Participation improved individual acceptance, social connections, satisfaction, and reduced health issues. Participants will be able to use their new knowledge in their daily lives and share it with family, friends, and acquaintances.
- The workshops also explored the potential for developing and implementing these activities on the farm; this served as a basis for preparing a program draft for continuing activities after the project’s completion, within the framework of supplementary activities on the farm.
- For the development of new sustainable activities on Zaplana 1890 farm, Dr. Benjamin Leskovec completed training in various natural approaches to health and well-being (nature experiences, use of natural products, healing power of water). He shared this new knowledge with other partners and interested farming communities.
- Štanta farm obtained permission for a new supplementary activity, enabling them to generate additional income through workshops and courses even after the project ends. A farm member also engaged in agricultural activity insurance..
- By transferring acquired knowledge and project information to other farms (e.g., Štanta farm), we ensure the project’s sustainability and usefulness, while encouraging them to consider implementing new, non-agricultural activities that can provide additional income and job opportunities.
- With new employment at the leading partner (Inkluzivni park 1890), the project achieved added value—promoting youth employment, acquiring new knowledge and experiences, expanding project information, etc.
- Through evaluation and dissemination of project results (via various communication channels), we will further contribute to its sustainability and usefulness, potentially encouraging more farms to diversify their activities.
The project is a model of good practice that combines new knowledge, concern for individual health and well-being, and the well-being of society as a whole. It promotes social inclusion, sustainable development of farms and Slovenian rural areas, and creates new jobs. All these aspects contribute to the greater prosperity of the local and wider community.
The project is coordinated by Inkluzivni park, so.p., in collaboration with project partners: Novinet d.o.o., so.p., and the farms Štanta, Leskovec – Zaplana 1890, Trček, and Jazbar.
The project is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food and the EU through the Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. It is implemented under measure M16: Cooperation from the Rural Development Program of the Republic of Slovenia 2014-2020, 3rd public call for sub-measure 16.9 – Support for the diversification of agricultural activities into activities related to health care, social inclusion, agriculture supported by the community, and environmental and food education.
