Inkluzivni Park
Ožbe Šteblaj
On the hill of St. Trojica, where we are now located, I grew up from a young age. Although there were no domestic animals living on this hill back then, I had a childhood dream of one day populating this space with horses, which I have always loved. I began to fulfill this childhood dream during my studies at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana, where I first studied Animal Science and then completed my studies with a master's degree in Animal Science. However, during my student years, I did not only sharpen my knowledge in the classroom. I also placed great emphasis on gaining practical experience, both here in Slovenia and at various equestrian centers in Germany, including one of the largest breeders of sport horses in the world. There, I gained a wealth of experience working with horses at the highest level. At the same time, I came to realize that horses are incredibly intelligent and social beings, with whom humans need time and patience to develop a true cooperative relationship. Because of this experience, I decided to provide my horses with a friendly and tailored environment and work. Only with such an approach can a horse give us what we desire most—beautiful and safe moments outdoors with a 500-kilogram mass of muscle that happily cooperates with us.
By nature, I am an explorer, constantly observing the happenings within the herd, on the pasture, and in the park's environment, always seeking to improve the living conditions of our horses and other domestic animals (our horses share the pasture with sheep and mini goats). I strive to preserve the park's biodiversity and ensure harmony with the wildlife. I am passionate about passing on my holistic approach to working with horses and environmental regeneration to younger generations. Determination, patience, and hard work are essential for success.
Lately, I've been leaving the riding school to the younger generation, while I focus more on expanding Inclusive Park and developing additional cultural, tourism, and research programs within the park.
